Overseas markets, are lower this morning: Nikkei 225 -1.45%, Hang Seng +0.13%, Shanghai -0.54%, DAX -1.53% and the FTSE -0.58%.

At about 7:20 AM ET, ahead of the jobless claims numbers the futures are little changed: DOW +4, S&P -1, NAZ -2, Oil -$0.02 and Gold -$0.10

Insiders, Institutions, and Shorts

While many new traders tend to look solely at technical indicators they’ve learned about in popular books, as you gain experience, you begin to add other pieces to the puzzle. Pieces such as the amount of a companies stock held by insiders and institutions and the amount of stock sold short (future buying power).
