Overseas markets begin the New Year little changed but with a positive bent: Nikkei 225 +1.03%, Hang Seng - 0.23%, Shanghai -Closed, DAX +0.71%, and the FTSE 100 +0.74%.
At about 7:40 AM ET the futures show a definite upward bias with commodities leading the way: Dow +53, S&P +6.7, NAZ +21.6, Oil +$1.36 and Gold +$21.30.
