This morning New York Fed President William Dudley is speaking on factors driving U.S. growth and inflation before the Association for a Better New York, in New York.

This evening Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke is Speaking on PBS’s News Hour with Jim Lehrer. Town hall, part 3 of 3. Check local listings–times vary.

China led by Shanghai is sharply lower while Europe is a bit better this A.M.: 225 +0.26%, Hang Seng -2.37%, Shanghai -5.00%, DAX +2.00% , and the FTSE 100 +1.03%.

At about 7:45 AM ET, the futures are pointing to lower openings: Dow -45, S&P -6.1, NAZ -8.4, Oil -$1.49 and Gold -$3.20.
