ETF Range Projections 1/13
Leading off earnings season, after the close yesterday, Alcoa (AA) announced it lost $1.2 billion in the fourth quarter. The stock had dropped sharply on Monday in anticipation of a weak result.
Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke is speaking at 8 A.M, in London about the policy response to the credit crunch. There will be a question and answer session following the speech. 8:30 AM brings the International trade balance market expectations are: -$51.5 billion.
Following Wall Street’s performance yesterday overseas markets are lower: Nikkei 225 -4.79%, Hang Seng -2.17%, Shanghai Composite -1.95%, DAX -2.05%, and the FTSE 100 -1.74%
As of about 8 AM the futures are pointing to slightly lower openings: Dow -25, S&P -3.70, Naz -3.70, Oil -$0.78, and Gold -$4.30
